Objective To evaluate the effect of effective implementation of health education on clinical nursing of diabetic patients. Methods A total of 100 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus admitted to the outpatient department of our hospital were selected.100 patients with type 2 diabetes were divided into two groups by random number table method.50 patients in the control group were given routine nursing, while 50 patients in the experimental group were given routine nursing plus whole course health education. The self-management,knowledge of disease, the proportion of nursing satisfaction and blood sugar level after intervention were compared between the control group and the experimental group. Results Statistical calculation showed that the proportion of self-management ability, disease knowledge awareness rate and nursing satisfaction of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group. In addition, the control effect of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group after the intervention of fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose levels,P<0.05.Conclusion The insufficient awareness of diabetes mellitus has a direct impact on the compliance behavior and the prognosis of blood sugar control. The effective implementation of health education throughout the course can improve the prognosis of diabetes mellitus patients.
