摘要
在概念隐喻理论框架下,基于COCA语料库,对"希望"(hope)隐喻进行研究,考察其始源域的主要构成,探求希望隐喻的认知理据。结果表明,"希望"隐喻的主要始源域有:光和火,细小和绵长之物,水和风等流体。希望概念的隐喻映射是以人们对始源域的体验和认知为基础的。"希望"隐喻植根于文化之中,具有丰富的文化内涵。
Based on COCA corpus and within the framework of the conceptual metaphor theory,this paper studies the hope metaphors,by inspecting the main members of its source domains and exploring the cognitive motivations.The results show that the main members of its source domains are:light and fire;something tiny and something narrow and long;fluids such as water and wind.The metaphorical mapping of the concept of hope is based on people's experience and cognition of the source domains.Hope metaphor is rooted in culture and has rich cultural connotations.
