Objective: To investigate the effect of aripiprazole combined with selective monoaminergic antagonist risperidone on serum myelin basic protein (MBP) and gGlial cellline- derivedneurotrophic factor (GDNF) in the treatment of schizophrenia patients. Methods: One hundred schizophrenia patients admitted to our hospital from Jun. 2015 to Jun. 2016 were randomly divided into control group and study group with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with risperidone, while the study group was treated with aripiprazole in addition to risperidone. The efficacy, cognitive function and serum MBP, GDNF levels were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, positive and negative syndrome scale (PANSS) scores of the two groups were both significantly decreased (P 〈 0.05 ), but the scores in study group decreased more than those in control group with statisticl difference and cognitive scores of the two groups also changed significantly( P 〈 0.05 ). MBP levels in the study group were lower than those before treatment and those in the control group ( P 〈 0.05 ). After the treatment, the levels of GDNF were increased in the two groups, and the levels in the study group were much higher than those in the control group ( P 〈 0.05 ). Conclusion: Aripiprazole combined with risperidone can significantly improve psychiatric symptoms in patients with schizophrenia, reduce cognitive impairment, decrease the level of MBP and increase the level of GDNF. It can provide new ideas for the treatment of schizophrenia.
