摘要
多罗那他是藏传佛教觉囊派高僧,也是藏族历史上最著名的学者之一。多罗那他有详尽自传存世,四川阿坝县觉囊派赛贡巴寺收藏的一套19世纪的多罗那他传记唐卡,就是根据自传所绘。每幅作品都带有清晰详尽的藏文榜题。藏传佛教上师传记唐卡流传已久,而这一系列唐卡图像与榜题文字共同构成晚近藏族绘画史上一种新的叙事模式。通过对唐卡榜题文字和画面翻译释读,有助于我们了解产生这种绘画形式的背后的意义,即多罗那他的思想在艺术中的体现以及觉囊教法在藏东地区的延续。
Taranatha was an eminent monk of Jonang sect of Tibetan Buddhism,and was one of the most famous scholar in Tibetan history. His works included The Indian Buddhism History,The Annals of TsangRegion,The Biography of Eighty - four Mahasiddha. He formulated the image set of Tibetan Buddhist- sadhana which was known as Rinjung Gyatsa. Taranatha presided over the construction of rtag - brtan dam- pa' chos - kyi - gling according to his ideal of retro art. A series Thangkas of Taranatha’ s biog-raphy painted in 19th century,and it was preserved in ser - dgon in lng - pa county in Sichuan. Eachpainting has clear and detailed Tibetan inscriptions. The image and text of these Thangkas constitute a new narrative mode in the late history of Tibetan culture. This paper intents to analyze the narrative mode of biographical painting of Jonang Thangkas and points out the value and significance of this se-ries Thangkas through interpretation the inscriptions and story scene of the second Thangka and corre-sponding the autobiography.
