"211工程"建设是国家实施"科教兴国"战略的重大举措,是适应国际发展需要的战略抉择。"211工程"建设的启动实施为高等学校明确自身发展定位提供了条件和机遇,在20年的建设过程中,天津大学结合国家战略和学校实际,紧抓发展机遇,加大建设力度,加快改革步伐,顺利完成了各个时期的各项建设任务。通过"211工程"建设,学校的学科体系更加完善,整体实力显著增强,办学质量和社会声誉得到较大提升,实现了跨越式发展。
The ＂211 Project＂ is an important measure to implement the strategy of invigorating the nation through science, technology and education and meeting the needs of international development. Tianjin University has successfully accomplished different tasks of development in the past 20 years by utilizing the opportunities provided by this Project, strengthening university building according to national strategy and making effective reforms. The ＂ 211 Project＂ has enabled Tianjin University to improve its system of disciplines, enhance its strengths, raise its education quality and reputation, and achieve great development.
