摘要
押从文化阐释与文化定位的角度,选取杨宪益《红楼梦》译本中第十三回(《秦可卿死封龙禁尉,王熙凤协理宁国府》),以其中21个官职名称的翻译为对象进行评价。研究发现,其中17个官职翻译能很好的传达中国古代官职文化,但另外4个翻译的比较简单,不能完全表达其中的文化内涵。译者在翻译的过程中,应定位于"源语文化"和"译语文化"的中间地带,并适时加以详细的解释或注释。
21 official titles in the Chapter 13 of A Dream of Red Mansions are studied in the perspective ofcultural interpretation and cultural orientation. The results showed that 17 official titles are translated wellwhich would transmit the official title culture in ancient China to the foreign readers; but there are also 4translations being simple, in which the culture is not well interpreted. To introduce the culture to theworld, the translator should orientate in the intermediate zone between original language culture and targetlanguage culture in the process of translation. At the same time, footnotes or detailed explanation areneeded.
