摘要
有关文化负载词翻译技巧的研究已有许多文章发表,其中提出的翻译技巧总结起来有:直译法、增词法、转换法和意译法,或概括为异化法和同化法。然而,文化负载词在翻译时究竟依据什么选择翻译技巧,却还没有一个指导性的原则。本文从翻译的目的论出发,借助语义学的研究成果,通过对影响文化负载词翻译的文化因素、读者因素和上下文因素的分析,提出了文化负载词翻译技巧选择必须抓主要矛盾的观点,以期文化负载词的翻译走出“人治”的迷津,走上“法制”的轨道。
As to the translation of culture -loaded words,several techniques have b een suggested,such as Literal Translation,Literal Translation with Explanation,Chan ge of Images and Free Translation,which are condensed by some scholars in to Image -Keeping and Image -Changing.However,one probl emremains,that is,no principle has been given concerning the choice of t he techniques.The author,with the help of Semantics,tackles t he problemby analyzing the purposes of the translation of the culture -lo aded words.After analyzing the purposes and the three factors(cultures,readers and contexts)affecting the choice of the techniqu es,the author suggests that the main purpose be the key to the choice of the techniques.
