摘要
建设应用技术大学是推动我国本科高校转型发展和提升高等教育服务经济社会发展能力的又一探索。建设滇西应用技术大学将是民族贫困地区在经济社会和高等教育发展基础薄弱的条件下发展高等教育的新尝试。要实现这一目标,应用技术大学建设要以推动少数民族人力资源开发实现扶贫为目标,适应和引领地方优势主导产业的发展,促进少数民族文化的繁荣和发展,推进民族团结和谐与共同进步,在办学体制和机制上大胆探索创新。其建设将为民族贫困地区通过应用型人才培养推动经济社会发展和扶贫开发探索出一条新的道路。
The construction of universities of applied sciences is a praiseworthy venture because it can help promote the transformation and development of higher education in China and enhance the serviceability of universities for socioeconomic development. Thus, the construction of West Yunnan University of Applied Sciences will be an innovation in developing higher education in poverty - stricken ethnic areas with weak socio - economic conditions. Besides, it will pioneer a new way to the local socio - economic improvement, the prosperity of ethnic minority cultures, the promotion of national unity and progress, poverty alleviation and industrial upgrading through cultivating applied talents in these poverty -stricken ethnic areas.
