摘要
通过教育与教学培养人才,通过科研发展科学,利用院校的优质教育资源为当时当地社会服务是大学的三大重要职能,其中,培养专门人才是基本职能。大学之所以称为大学,就在于培养各种类型、层次的专门人才,否则就不能称为大学而称为科研机构或其他文化机构。因此,培养人才是大学的根本。要回归大学的根本,必须探索形成"重科研,轻教学"的深层次原因。当然,回归大学的根本,并不一定要贬低大学从事科研工作的重要性,因为高等教育质量建设内在地包含科学研究工作。
Universities perform three essential functions, training through education and teaching, developing science through scientific research, and serving the local society with high-quality educational resources. Of the three, training through education and teaching is the most fundamental function. To return fo the basics of the university, deep-seated reasons for the emphasis on research over teaching must be explored. This return, however, does not mean belittling the importance of research, because higher education quality assurance inherently includes scientific research.
