Existence and non-existence are two essential concepts in Lao-Tzu's Tao Teh King. Lao-Tzu exposes theoperational law of the Tao through the opposite and united relationship between existence and non-existence : beingnatural and without doing it. Naturalism is the essential spirit and highest value of Lao-Tzu's thoughts. Lao-Tzutalks about the Tao of Human Race on the basis of the Tao of Heaven, and explores from the relationship of exist-ence and non-existence in the real world to that in the supernatural world. He reveals the truth that existence andnon-existence give birth the one to (the idea of) the other, and reminds people that it doesn't benefit to only seethe value of existence while neglecting the role of non-existence. Lao-Tzu's thought of being natural and without do-ing it reflects a higher level of value concern : without doing it leading to people's autonomy, without doing it mean-ing nothing is left undone, and practicing doing nothing leading to rule of the world. Lao-Tzu's naturalism has a val-ue of being applicable to the whole universe. It applies to various relationships such as: between Tao and the uni-verse, man and nature, human and society, man and man, and individual harmony of the body and the mind. It iscrucial to our reflection on man's destiny and future.
