摘要
"本质"是西方思想史中的核心概念之一。人们关于这个概念的讨论主要有三个视角:实在论、唯名论和当代的偶态论。在这三个角度中呈现的本质概念,尽管有内在的关系,但它们所表达的关注点及其意义都相当不同。从思想史的角度梳理这个概念的历时性演变和发展脉络,对于我们准确地理解和使用"本质"一词具有认识论上的深刻意义。我们需要充分重视视角转换中的本质概念的界定。
The concept of essence is one of the key concepts in Western thought. Historically, there are three perspectives in dealing with it, that is, realism, nominalism, and modality. Although the internal implication may be found in defining essence from these perspectives, we may reveal they contain different concerns and meanings. A historical tracing of these three definitions of essence may offer some deeper insights into the concept.
