The morphology and nature of several kinds of non metallic inclusions and intermetallic compounds in Al Si die casting alloy are systematically investigated by optical microscopic and SEM examination,energy spectrum analysis and micro hardness test. The source and cause of formation of these inclusions are also discussed, and good results are obtained by taking relevant measures in production.
