摘要
汉语时政新词语的英译在中国的对外宣传和传播工作中占有举足轻重的地位 ,在改革开放的今天也日益显示出其必要性和重要性。由于其“新”的性质 ,译者在翻译此类词语时往往无先例可循 ,必须尝试做第一个翻译的人。
The translation of Chinese neologisms of state affairs and politics into English plays quite a significant role in China's present day external publicity activities, as well as in China's opening to the outside world. The newness of these neologisms makes their English translations inaccessible for translators, and thus poses great difficulties and challenges for the translation of this kind. This paper aims at working out a set of proper principles of translating them into English on the basis of analyzing major difficulties that may arise in the process.
