The pole/zero cancellation can be avoided in four block design. It is pointed out further that using proper combinations of the signals the four block problem can be used for dicect synthesis. This design idea is illustrated in H ∞ control of ill conditioned plant and robust stabilization of lightly damped systems. A design example of Benchmark problem is given.
