Triphenyl methane is an important kind of organic reagents in recently trace analysis.A review is given in this paper,mainly including the application of triphenyl methane in catalytic spectrophotometry,spectrophotometry and electrochemical analysis since the late 10 years in 20th century,and its future developments in China,125 references are cited.
