This article describes the development status of computer setup control method for medium and heavy plate mill,expounds the defects with program setup method in early stage and developed optimizing schedule on-line setup method-including method making full use of mill capacity,equi-proportional crown method,method of overall controlling plate crown and flatness,cross-sectional vector method as well as overall load-storing function method,etc.
