摘要
20世纪90年代国际企业管理界的一个重大事件是美国企业竞争力再次超过日本，成为世界之首。本文列举了美国企业竞争力超过日本企业的表现，并对这一现象进行了由表及里的理论分析，认为美国企业竞争力再度上升的根源在于：硅谷机制催生新兴企业、企业重构使老企业重新焕发活力、采用信息科学技术、制造业重获竞争力、给经营者施予变革动力与压力的治理结构，以及迅速应变的管理模式。
During the 1990s, American corporation's competitiveness exceeded Japanese corporation and became the number one in the world again. In this paper, we discuss several phenomenon reflecting the event, and consider the important reasons are the following: the mechanism of Silicon Valley creating new corporations, corporation restructuring making the old corporation revival, the adoption of information technology, the industry re-obtaining competitiveness, governance structure, and the management mode.
