摘要
1990年7月－1994年5月我们对湘西的鸟类作了初步调查，获得标本183种，加上见到而未采到的8种，文献记载35种，共计226种与亚种。计有17目，46科，其中繁殖鸟有153种，占鸟类总数的67．4％，属东洋界种类98种，占43．2％，大麻等12种为河南省内新纪录。对鸟类的组成和区系成分进行了分析。
There are 226 species of birds in west Hunan. In which, 183 species were collected from July of 1990 to May of 1994. 8. species ouly observed, and 35 species were oaly recorded in hiteratured. They belong to seventeen orders;forty-six familis, among them 153 species of birds nest here, with 67.4% of all, 98 species belong to eastern kingdom,43.2% of the tatal. Botaurus stellaris stellaris and other 12 species are new records in Hunan, The components and distribution of birds fauna in west Hunan were analysed.
