奥尼尔的《琼斯皇》以“内米祭司恐惧”的原型母题、“死亡一复活”的原型模式、树种崇拜的原型意象构成了一个富有意蕴的神话原型体系，暗示了一条人类回归自我的痛苦而又充满希望的数赎之路。
In Eugene Gladstone O'neill's the theme of 'the terror of Priest Namy Neimy,the mode of'death-life resurrection' and the images of a doring gods constituted a meaningful mythological system of prototype and hinted a painful but promising way for humans to save themselves by regression.
