The paper briefly introduces the present situation of the developments and applications of simulation technology of computer in Maritime Education and Training (MET), and gives the prospects of the new developments and applications of such technology in the filed of MET in the next century. The paper also put out some suggestions for promoting the full application of the simulation technology in MET of the Chinese maritime institutions in order to meet the needs of the development of the shipping industry both at home and abroad.
