The design principles, operation conditions, functions and applications of a real-time transaction management system for Liaoning generation electricity market are clarified in detail and summarized. Compared with the command dispatching under monopoly situation, the real-time dispatching fashion for electricity markets is much more objective and reasonable than the dispatching in monopolistic systems for dealing with unexpected changes in units, spinning reserve, ancillary service or system faults.
