Chromosome preparation and karyological analysis of Pleurobrachia globasa , a kind of Ctenophore, inhabiting in Xiamen Waters were studied and reported. The chromosome number of this animal was determined to be 2 n =30, which can be partnered to 15 pairs of homolgous chromosomes. The karyotypic formula of 2 n =30=16 m+8 sm+2 st+4 t, NF=54 was suggested. Chromosome number 2 was considered to be SAT chromosome. Methodology on the chromosome preparation of this gel animal was discussed.
