The contents of gymnemic acid in leaves of Gymnema sylvestre (Retz.) Schult collected from Hepu, Guangxi in July and October were 0.67% and 0.97% respectively, but Qinzhou sample collected in October was 1.06%. It indicated that gymnemic acid content in leaves collected in same season of two localities is similar, while more different content is present in two seasons of same locality.
