The paper reviewed the robot usage, using occasion as well as communication and controls; it discussed working principle and characteristics of EtherCAT communication technology, it illustrated the controls of software and hardware combining EtherCAT communication technology with ABB industrial robot, it detailed the design approach for ABB robot control software and it presented key design codes.
