Clothing wear directly influences the consistency of carding quality. The IGS grinding system developed by Rieter Textile Systems is designed to guarantee constant carding quality and a substantial reduction in complicated and awkward maintenance work. The article introduces first the performance of IGS classic system for grinding cylinder clothing that was introduced to mar- ket in 1997 and then the newly developed IGS top system for flats grinding. It also analyses the cost-effectiveness of the systems.
