牌示解说词英译中的译者主体性研究 被引量:2

On the Subjectivity of Translators in C-E Translation of Interpretive Panels

摘要 旅游活动具有目的性、异地性和暂时性,这意味着牌示解说词从本质上说是在有限时间内对外宣介异质文化的实用文本。作为文本处理者,译者不得不面对原文文化专有项处理与译文篇幅文风把握两大任务。一方面,译者需要就文化专有项性质、内涵、传译可能性与必要性进行综合考虑从而确定译法;另一方面,译者应该也已经在实际中以不同方式把握译文篇幅和文风。可见,牌示解说词译文是译者在尊重原文基础上为了满足游客求异目的而进行判断、权衡和妥协的结果,体现了译者的受动性、为我性和能动性,即主体性。 The nature of travel determines that interpretive panels of scenic spots are mainly designed to disseminate heterogenous culture within a limited time, which means that the translators need to deal with culture-specific items of the source texts and the length and style of the target texts. On the one hand, translators have to make judgments about the nature and meanings of culture-related items as well as the necessity and possibility of their translation; on the other hand, they should and they did try to limit the length of translations appropriately and make necessary compromises on the writing style. Therefore, translations of interpretive panels of scenic spots are essentially the translators' subjective judgments and choices based on their respect for the source texts and tourists' expectation of exotic experiences, and this demonstrates the translators' subjectivity in the translation process.
