摘要
本文采用Chesterman的对比功能分析方法，对英汉语非真诚拒绝（也称虚假拒绝）言语行为进行语用对比研究。结果表明，英语非真诚拒绝的言语行为远不如汉语非真诚拒绝常见。有意义的是，英汉语拒绝语言表达式虽然存在一定相似性，但彼此之间的差异是主要的。（其他条件相同情况下）之所以有“汉语文化下是非真诚拒绝言语行为，英语文化下是劝说言语行为”的类属之分，其原因在于英汉文化和语言的差异。这为翻译、外语教学和跨文化交际等提供了一定启示。
This paper presents a pragmatic-contrastive study of English and Chinese insincere refusal （also called ostensible refusal） with the research method of Chesterman＇ s Contrastive Functional Analysis. The result shows that the speech act, like insincere refusal, is far from being popular in English speaking countries than in Han culture or Chinese culture. Moreover, it is interesting that even there is some similarity between linguistic expressions of refusal in English and Chinese, there are mainly differences. Normally, being the similar expressions, it is an insincere refusal in Chinese but a persuasion in English, which results from their different cultural and linguistic factors. Hopefully, this study can shed some light on translation, foreign language leaching and learning, and cross-cultural communication as well.
