A study was conducted in Cotton Institute, Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural and Reclama- tion Science in 2011. Taking three main-planting early maturing upland cotton Xinluzao 33 (pattern I ), Xinluzao 36 (pattern II ) and Xinluzao 42 (pattern I -II ) as materials, in planting density of the 200 000 plants per hectare, plant traits were talked about. The results showed that there were signifi- cantly differences on plant patterns of early maturing upland cotton which displayed vital genetic di- versity, and varieties of pattern I-II had goodly yield potential. Among 23 phenotypic traits, more than 10G variation coefficient was detected in 6 traits, including 5 plant pattern traits, named leafsbearing stem, plant height, sympodial branch number, monopodial branch number and monopodial branch length, and 1 yield trait named Bolls bearing monopodial branch . Twelve traits were detected difference at 0.05 significant level, including maturity, plant patterns, yields and q for 52.2%. Within 8 traits showed difference at 0.01 significant level, including 3 namely leafs bearing stem, plant height, and sympodial branch number, 2 yield-rel mass per boll,100-seed weight and 3 quality traits namely length uniformity, fiber uality, accounting plant typic traits ated traits namely strength, miaire value. The consistently changes of variation coefficient and F of the three varieties was mainly on plant patterns, while yields and quality had also a significant difference on the F value.
