The expression and clinical significance of Bmi-1 in tongue squamous cell carcinoma

摘要 目的:探讨Bmi-1蛋白在舌鳞状细胞癌组织中的表达及其与临床病理的关系。方法:应用免疫组织化学染色法检测Bmi-1蛋白在52例舌癌和12例正常舌黏膜组织标本中的表达。结合患者临床病理资料和随访资料,应用SPSS 17.0软件分析Bmi-1的表达与相关临床病理参数(Fisher精确概率法)以及患者总生存率之间(Kaplan-Meier法)的关系。结果:Bmi-1在舌癌组织中呈高表达,与其在正常舌组织的表达水平有显著统计学差异(P<0.000 1)。Bmi-1蛋白表达与患者颈淋巴结转移有关(P=0.036 7),而与患者的性别、年龄、肿瘤大小、局部浸润、临床分期等无关(P>0.05)。Bmi-1高表达组患者的总体生存率明显低于Bmi-1低表达组患者(P=0.017 9,Log-rank检验)。结论:Bmi-1在舌鳞状细胞癌组织中呈高表达,其表达水平与颈淋巴结转移及患者的预后有关。 Objective: To investigate the Bmi-1 expression in tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) and its relationship with clinicopathological parameters. Methods : The Bmi- 1 protein expression in 52 cases of TSCC and 12 cases of normal tongue mucosa samples were examined by immunohistochemistry. The correlation between Bmi-1 level and clinicopathological characteristics and o- verall survival were analyzed statistically using Fisher exact test and Kaplan-Meier method respectively. Results: The Bmi-1 expres- sion in TSCC was higher than that in normal tongue ( P 〈 0.000 1 ). Bmi- 1 over- expression was found to be associated with cervical lymph node metastasis( P -- 0. 036 7 ), but not with gender, age, tumor size, local invasion and clinical stage( P 〉 0.05 ). The over- all survival rate in patients with Bmi-1 high expression was lower than that in patients with its low expression (P = 0.017 9). Conclu- sion: Bmi-1 is over-expressed in TSCC and its upregulation is associated with cervical lymph node metastasis and patients'prognosis.
