This paper summarizes the distribution and the physical and chemical properties of diatomite, describing in detail its use for architecture, asphalt modification, agriculture, adsorption, catalysis, etc. It also discusses briefly the application of diatomite in the industries of paper, plastic and rubber, paint and coating, etc. and predicts its future prospects.
