Bohai 36 1 crude is classified to low sulfur naphthenic base crude oil, which is a good feedstock for producing high grade road asphalt. AH 70 asphalt and AH 90 asphalt were prepared from the crude oil by distilling and slight oxidizing the vacuum residue, both of which can meet the ESSO asphalt specification. The performances of AH 70 and AH 90 were approached and better than that of ESSO asphalt respectively.
