摘要
绘制高度真实感的自然场景是计算机图形学研究领域的一个富有挑战性的难题 ,植物对象比如草地和树木是虚拟自然场景的重要组成部分 .植物种类繁多 ,形态各异 ,复杂的结构使其无论在造形、存储还是在绘制上都存在相当的困难 .为了解决这个难题 ,根据植物的自身特点 ,分别采用多边形、纹元 (texel)和体纹理 (volum etrictexture)作为工具来构造不同的植物 ,并且分别给出了不同植物场景的简单构造方法 .绘制的结果证明了这些构造和绘制方法是有效可行的 .
Realistic rendering of complex natural scenes is a challenging research topic in computer graphics. Plant objects such as trees and grasses play an important role in the construction of virtual scenes. Plant objects are diversified to few classic types with variable complex structures and geometric shapes. Due to the complexity of types, realistic modeling and rendering of such a natural scene are usually costly and time consuming. To tackle the problem, polygons, texels, and volumetric texture are employed as effective tools to construct and render the classic types of plant objects based on type features. The method proposed in the paper simplifies the complexity and eliminates the aliasing of visual effects. The experiments show the feasibility of generating realistic images of natural plant scenes using hybrid modeling and rendering techniques employed in this paper.
