摘要
省略是英汉两种语言中共有的语言现象,其在语篇衔接与连贯上起着重要作用。根据省略的定义和分类,从不同角度和层面对英汉语言中的省略现象进行对比与分析,并探究其原因,发现英汉省略的差异对英汉翻译具有重要的启示。
Ellipsis is the common language phenomenon both existing in English and Chinese. It plays an important role in discourse cohesion and coherence. The author tries to compare and analyses the ellipsis both in English and Chinese from different aspects, which has some effect on translation.
