摘要
英语长句的翻译是学生英语学习中的难点。学生在理解和翻译英语长句时的失误主要源于他们没有掌握英语和汉语两种语言系统的不同结构特点。面对长句,学生应沉重冷静,先找出主干,化繁为简;再寻找关联,顺藤摸瓜;进而划分意群,各个击破;最后重新整合,水到渠成,从而一步步瓦解长句。
Translation of long English sentences is a headache for English learners. Students＇ failures in the translalion mainly derive from their ignorance of different features of two language systems, Chinese and English. When confronted with long English sentences, the students should not be panic, but try to spot the main body first to make things easier, find out the conjunction words as clues, divide the sentence into sense groups and understand each, and finally integrate the sense groups. In this way, the long English sentences will de disintegrated and tackled.
