在英语国家 (主要是英国 ) ,从《圣经》翻译的先驱凯德蒙到 1973年“新国际版”《圣经》出版 ,《圣经》翻译经历了 140 0多年的历史 ,《圣经》英译规模不断壮大 ,涌现出许多优秀版本和翻译巨匠。《圣经》英译不仅是宗教领域的大事 。
In English speaking countries (particularly in Britain), the translation of the Bible into English had enjoyed a history of over 1,400 years starting from the version translated by Caedmon to “the English New International Version' published in 1973. The scale of the great work had been expanded again and again, from which emerged many excellent versions and extraordinary translators. It must be noted that the translation of the Bible into English should not merely be the important task within the religious circle. It also stands out as one of the notable landmarks in the development of the English language.
