A general framework for low complexity block detector is proposed based on information theory.Two propositions are presented which may be employed to find out low complexity algorithms.We have applied the proposed framework to the problem of finding low complexity algorithms for Multi Symbol Differential Detection (MSDD) over either AWGN or flat correlated rayleigh fading channels.The complexities of new fast algorithms increase roughly linearly with block length N while optimum MSDD increases exponentially with N .Simulation results show almost the same performances for practical N .
