摘要
作为英语词汇的一个重要组成部分,短语动词既是英语学习的重点也是难点。从传统的教学模式来看,其结构的稳定性和语义的整体性及多义性使其习得只能靠长期逐渐积累。认知语言学认为语言是一个概念化的过程和结果,强调以经验为基础来认知包括抽象概念的客观世界。短语动词语义的多义性是靠词义扩展的隐喻机制实现的。通过分析短语动词中各个组成成分的语义然后进行意义整合可以判断其最终语义。
As an important part of English vocabulary, phrasal verbs are not only the important but also difficult part in English learning. From the perspective of traditional teaching and learn- ing mode, it is a long process of accumulation to grasp the usage of phrasal verbs because of its structural stability, semantic unity and polyscmy. Emphasizing the necessity of understanding the objective world including abstract concepts on the basis of expe- rience, cognitive linguistics argues that language is the process and result of conceptualization. In general, the polysemy of phrasal verbs is realized by metaphorical mechanism. Therefore, analyzing the meaning of each element in the phrasal verb and then blend them together can help learners grasp its meaning.
