The inhibtition mechanism of SL 2B corrosion inhibitor used in oil field produced waters was studied by means of potentiodynamic polarization and AC impedance techniques. The results demonstrated that SL 2B was a hybrid inhibtior which had a geometrical coverage effect in inhibition mechanism upon Q235 steel.
