摘要
公示语是城市对外宣传的窗口,对提升城市的国际形象有着重要作用。以苏州地区为例,从语用角度出发分析公示语翻译的语用等效失误状况,提出公示语翻译应以读者为导向,以归化策略为主,力求语用等效。
Public signs are guidelines of cities for foreigners in public places, which are relevant to the international image of the city. In this article, the author analyzes the pragmatic failure in the C-E translation of some public signs in Suzhou and puts forward that domesticating method and reader-oriented policy should be adopted to achieve the principle of pragmatic equivalent effect in the translation of public signs.
