CCD HDTV imager has substantially narrowed the gap between 35 mm motion picture film origination and television picture. This article compares the picture quality of an HDTV CCD Camera with film from the viewpoint of performance parameters for televion program production. These parameters include picture sharpness,sensitivity,exposure index and noise. A correlation formulation is presented accordingly. Finally is evaluated the overall performance of CCD HDTV camera vs. color negative film.
