摘要
外来语词一般需经过同化的过程才能进入新的词汇系统,成为该词汇系统的有机组成部分。通过对英汉外来词同化过程的对比研究可以发现,英语外来词同化的主要手段是音、形的借用,而汉语外来词同化的主要手段是意化,这种差异源于英汉词汇系统的差异。
Generally loan words enter a new vocabulary system and become one organic part of it through a process of assimila- tion. The comparison of Chinese and English loan words＇ assimilation shows that borrowing is the main medium of assimilation for loan words in English while semantic translation is the major one for borrowings in Chinese. This difference is caused by the dis- similarity between Chinese and English vocabulary systems.
