The Diels - Alder cycloaddition of 2,5 - dimethyithiophene 5 - monoxide and 5,5- dioxide with fullerene C60 gave the heterocycle - containing [ 60 ] Fullerene derivatives. The resulting cycloadduct is stable enough to allow for isolation, storage, and further manipulations.
