In the hot-rolling workshop of Baosteel Special branch,ABB ACS6000 medium vohage variable speed drive system is used for roughroiling mill synchronous motor. This system is equipped with so called integrated gate commutated thyristors （ IGCT ） as its power element. Detailed described the hardware and software configuration, technical characteristic of the drive system.
