摘要
科学与神学是现代美国文明不可或缺的两大支柱。人们对科学与神学的关系问题已经研究了多年。事实和研究结果表明 ,科学是一门科学 ,神学也是一门科学 ;科学与神学的关系随历史的发展而变化。二者共存已成事实。美国物质文明是建立在科学高度发达的基础之上的 ;美国精神文明则是建立在神学不断延伸的基础之上的。要了解和理解美国文明 ,就要懂得神学在美国社会政治和经济生活中的重要作用。
Both science and theology are pillars of American civilization. People have been studying the relationship of science and theology for long time ,and fact and research results show that science is a kind of knowledge and theology is also a kind of knowledge. At the same time ,people should understand that the relations between science and theology changed with the development of history ,and the two factors coexist .The material culture of America is founded on the basis of advanced natural science ,and the spiritual culture of America is founded in the basis of extended religious theology .If one hopes to understand and comprehend what is American civilization , he should know what is the important role of American theology in the political and economical life.
