Objective:To observe the efficacy and security of intermittent pneumatic compression therapy in patients with sacrococcygeal pressure ulcer.Methods:66 patients with sacrococcygeal pressure ulcers were randomly divided into experimental(33 patients) and control groups(33 patients). The control group were treaded with standard methods, while the experimental group were treated with standard methods plus intermittent pneumatic compression therapy. Both the healing rate and the average healing time were observed. The pressure ulcer scale for healing(PUSH) was used for evaluating and monitoring of the effect of the treatment. Results:The PUSH score efficiency for the experimental group was 93.3%,which was significantly higher than that of 57.5% for the control group(P0.05).The average healing time in the experimental group was(28.0±4.5) d,while that in the control group was(46.0±7.6) d.The experimental group showed significantly better effects as compared with the control group, with no significant adverse reactions in both groups(P0.05).Conclusion:Intermittent pneumatic compression therapy is effective in patients with sacrococcygeal pressure ulcer, and can be applied in primary hospital with security, simplicity, and convenience.
