Obesity and the associated metabolic disorders have been the worldwide public healthy problems. The development of obesity and the process of losing weight are associated with the intestine microbiota. Recent literatures indicate that the intestinal microbiota dysbiosis and low grade inflammation have been the two main factors affecting the development of obestiy and the related metabolic disorder. This review focuses on recent sdudies on how intestinal microbiota affects host metabolism and energy storage. It also reviews the interaction between obesity, intestinal microbiota, and low grade inflammation. Considering the functions of the probiotics and prebiotics, probiotics and prebiotics approaches appear as a potential treatment to control the obesity linked to gut microbiota dysbiosis and the metabolic disorder related to obesity.
