摘要
文章基于概念隐喻理论以及翻译中对等原则,探究认知隐喻在英语音译中的应用。通过分析汉语中典型的音译借词,说明认知隐喻在音译中所发挥的作用,隐喻为两种文化之间搭建了一座桥梁,然而,也应该避免具有误导性的音译,因为它会使接受者产生错误的联想。
Based on conceptual metaphor theory and the equivalence principle in translation, this paper tries to explore the application of cognitive metaphor in English transliteration. According to the analysis of metaphors in typical transliterated loan words in Chinese, it explains how metaphors help to achieve successful transliteration, Metaphor can bridge the gap between the two cultures. However, misleading transliteration should be avoided because of wrong association in recipients. In the future, the application of metaphor in transliteration will be in favor.
