摘要
本文采用多变量相关分析和回归分析,对英语作为外语的95位非英语专业大学二年级学生的词汇广度、词汇深度以及语法知识在他们英语听力理解中的作用进行了实证研究。我们发现,学习者的词汇广度、词汇深度和语法知识都与听力理解存在显著的正相关关系;通过回归分析进一步发现,他们的词汇广度、深度知识和语法知识对听力理解的方差都具有显著的解释力,但具体存在差别:总样本和小词汇量样本中,深度知识对听力理解的方差解释最好,分别为45.3%和57.1%,在大词汇量样本中,语法知识对听力理解的方差解释最好,为19.9%。
This paper investigates the relationship between breadth and depth of vocabulary knowledge as well as grammatical knowledge and listening comprehension in the context of English as a foreign language. 95 second year non- English majors(who are divided into small and large vocabulary size groups in later analysis) were given a Listening Comprehension test, a Vocabulary. Size test, a Depth of Vocabulary Knowledge test and a Grammatica]ity Judgment test. The correlations between lexical knowledge (breadth and depth) and grammatical knowledge and listening comprehension in the full sample are significant. Besides, depth of vocabulary knowledge in the full sample and in the small vocabulary size has well explained the variance in listening comprehension(45.3.8% and 57.1% respectively) while grammatical knowledge in the large vocabulary size group has explained 19.9% of variance in listening comprehension.
