摘要
《重学》是第一部系统传入中国的西方经典力学译著,该书第一次用汉语表达了一批力学术语.分析了《重学》中力学术语的翻译方法,并对《重学》翻译的术语及其沿革与变化进行梳理与分析,认为晚清静力学术语的翻译与传播基本稳定,但《重学》创译的动力学术语变化较大且大部分逐渐被淘汰.术语的翻译与传播反映了西方力学在中国被理解与接受的过程.
Zhongxue is the first Chinese translation that introduced Western classical mechanics systemically into China.Many technical terms were translated into Chinese for the first time in the translation.This article analyses the translation method and situation of evolution and transformation of those Chinese terms appeared in both Zhongxue and other influential works in late Qing Dynasty.It comes to the conclusion that the terms of statics were disseminated steadily,but those of dynamics in Zhongxue were changed a lot and most of them were replaced gradually.The process of transmission of the technical terms reflected course that mechanical knowledge was understood and accepted gradually in China.
