The role of DNA microarray-based techniques in microbiology

摘要 基因芯片技术是20世纪90年代初新兴的分子生物学技术,具有高通量、高度并行性、灵敏度高、特异性强等优点。本文综述了基因芯片技术基本原理及其在微生物学方面的作用。 Since the 1990s,DNA microarrays have been used to study the process of infection by pathogens,to diagnose diseases,and to study host-pathogen interaction.DNA microarray techniques have many advantages,paving the way for the parallel detection and analysis of the patterns of expression of thousands of genes in a single experiment.The sensitivity of microarrays also allows detection of subtle differences that are much harder to detect with subtraction or other molecular methods.This review examines the principles of microarray techniques and their use in microbiology.
